Norwegian firm Helly Hansen is a global leader in action-utility wear for survival, work and sport. Innovation has been a foundation of Helly Hansen since the company established in 1877, and its technical outdoor products are designed to be an enabling layer between human will and nature's forces. Helly Hansen is distributed in more than 40 countries, and the privately owned company had a turnover of 1.41 billion NOK in 2007.

Helly Hansen is the latest footwear and apparel brand to adopt the Atomium Interactive Product Guide to support international sales agents, distributors and marketing staff across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.  The guide was commissioned by the Global Marketing Director for Helly Hansen based on extensive research and review of user needs and having studied the relative benefits of alternative software systems. The launch event was the company’s Spring international sales conference where over 200 staff, agents, partners and distributors gathered to review the Spring Summer 2010 range of product, including the brand new Helly Hansen sportswear collection.

A feature of the software that really caught the Helly Hansen audience imagination, such that spontaneous applause erupted in the conference hall, was the ability to export product selections, with a thumbnail picture, to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for order completion, or to a Microsoft PowerPoint which doubles as a tailored leave behind. Within a month of the initial distribution of the software to 200 people demand caused this to rise by 25% to over 250 users.
